Be part of our volunteer promotional street crews!

Are you a resident getting services from the Glastonbury Community League? Do you want to help us out with promoting our events?

We are looking for 15 minutes of your time…by becoming a member of our promotional street crews.

All you have to do is:

• Print out 1 or 2 posters (or more if you are moved to) of an event that interests you
• Post it on a bulletin board you walk by frequently

OR

• Pass it out to people in the neighbourhood or your circle of friends you think would ALSO be interested in it

Want to do more? Great!!

Contact us through our events@glastonbury-cl.org email and ask us for some flyers to put in mailboxes around your area of the ‘hood! Many hands make light work…and successful events!

Come and learn helpful hints for staying safe while home alone. Topics include: answering the phone, safely preparing food, how to respond to emergencies, and more.

Annual General Meeting

The Glastonbury Community League is holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 (7:00PM – West Edmonton Christian Assembly: 6315, 199 Street NW). Food and beverages, prizes and of course community information will be provided on the night.

4 Wheel Drive & Ride To Survive Bicycle Courses

Does your child have the need for speed? Then our June bike riding and safety courses are just in time to help! Designed to run concurrently so siblings can attend, the courses feature basic bicycle skills, rules of the road, and safety through bike-related games and obstacle courses. Bike helmets are mandatory.

4 WHEEL DRIVE

This class is for children who love biking and are still on training wheels. Children learn how to stay safe while having fun on their bike! For children 4 - 6 years.

Learn what it takes to be a great babysitter!

Glastonbury Community League is pleased to offer a babysitting course for 11 to 17 year olds. This well rounded course covers basic child care, first aid, safety, and introduces participants to the importance of play in a child’s life.

The course will be taught by a qualified instructor and will include role playing, brainstorming, and hands-on exercises. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Glastonbury Park Grand Opening Photo Contest!

Calling all photographers in the Glastonbury Community League area!

We are looking for photos of you and your kids enjoying Glastonbury Park playground to use on the cover of invitations to our upcoming park opening (Sunday May 27, 2012,
2:00PM – 4:00PM,
Glastonbury Park
1101 Grantham Drive). In addition to having your image used to promote the event the winner will receive a $25.00 Starbucks gift card.*

The winning photo will be chosen by the GCL Board of Directors and announced on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. The image selected will be used in printed and digital promotional material related to the event.

Free Swimming at the Rec Centre and the Y!

As Glastonbury Community League members, your family can access FREE SWIMMING at Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre and at the Jamie Platz YMCA on Sundays from 5pm to 7pm. You just need to present your membership card for access during this time. There is an attendance cap at both locations, so it is best to get there early. Click for further details.
